Road fatalities and injuries pose significant challenges to global development and public health. With approximately 1.19 million people losing their lives in road crashes annually, it stands as the 12th leading cause of death worldwide. Particularly concerning is the fact that road crashes are the primary cause of death for young individuals aged 5 to 29. Moreover, low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) bear the brunt of this issue, accounting for around 92% of road fatalities, thereby impacting the most vulnerable communities. Although solutions exist to address this critical public health challenge, road crashes often receive insufficient attention in our daily lives. Consequently, there is an urgent need for increased action and awareness to combat this hidden pandemic on our roads. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the United Nations has made significant efforts to tackle road safety globally. The objective of this project is to have a transformative impact on the protection of road users, particularly the most vulnerable, by facilitating their access to safe and sustainable mobility.
