The objective of the project is to raise awareness of government representatives and stakeholders in the UNECE member States in on forests and their role in climate change mitigation and adaptation in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The project will focus on raising awareness on the linkages between forests and climate change mitigation and adaptation and will include: forest bioeconomy, circularity and forests; carbon neutral building materials - wooden construction; climate change and sustainable consumption and production patterns in forest-based supply chains; food systems and forests; the food-forest-climate nexus; climate change adaptation; climate change impacts and forests (including fires, floods etc.), climate change and boreal forests; biodiversity and the new Global Biodiversity Framework in the forest biome.
