The objective of the project is to enhance regional transport infrastructure connectivity by establishing a Transport Geographical Information System (GIS) Database. The objective is achieved through implementation of the following activities: A1.1. Procurement and operationalization of a customized Geographical Information System (GIS) application A1.2. Organisation of four technical workshops on GIS application (capacity building on GIS technologies, data collection) A1.3. Preparation of a pipeline with prospect transport infrastructure projects (missing links, upgrade of existing networks) A2.1. Undertaking a study on benchmarking transport infrastructure construction costs A2.2. Undertaking a study on good practices in financing regional transport infrastructure A2.3. Organisation of one technical workshop on supporting the preparation of the above mentioned studies. Beneficiaries of the project are 11 UN ECE EATL member States: Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
