The main objective of the project is to support the development efforts of CIS countries by improving their capacities

a) to implement UNECE legal instruments, norms , standards and regulations,

b) formulate institutional frameworks for regional and sub regional integration,

c) elaborate and implement technical assistance projects/programmes and,

d) build national capacity for achieving the international development goals, including the MDGs.

Other objectives include :

a) addressing cross-border and transboundary issues,

b) promoting private-public partnerships and,

c) strengthening UNECE cooperation with CIS countries.
