The objective of the project is to support the government of Azerbaijan in removing regulatory and procedural barriers to trade. At the 7th session of the Steering Committee on Trade Capacity and Standards (Geneva, 27-28 June 2023, ECE/CTCS/2022/2), Government of Azerbaijan requested the UNECE to conduct its flagship Study on Regulatory and Procedural Barriers to Trade (RPBT study). The objective of the project is to support the government in establishing institutional and legislative trade frameworks for ensuring successful integration in global value chains. UNECE has been developing national studies on Regulatory and Procedural Barriers to Trade in several SPECA participating States: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and, most recently, Uzbekistan, as well as Armenia and Georgia in the South Caucasus. A full-fledged RPBT Study consists of five to ten chapters. The proposed project will initiate the study with additional fund-raising to be carried out.
