Following the success Forum of Mayors in October 2020, April 2022 and October 2023, a fourth Forum will be held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland from 30 September to 1 October 2024. The Forum will be held back-to-back with the Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management to link local and national actions in support of the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As in previous years, the Forum will reflect the increasing need to involve local stakeholders towards meeting the SDGs targets and provide a platform for local authorities in the UNECE region to share best practices to tackle different issues, including COVID-19 recovery, urban sustainability, affordable housing, sustainable transport and mobility, climate action and others. The objective of this project is to strengthen capacities of the UNECE member States on sustainable urban development, housing and land management. It will create a space to discuss and share experiences and initiate a network of colleagues from different countries in the region to share ideas and innovation.
