The Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to record a high number of road deaths per million inhabitants compared to the EU average. According to the data for 2021, the EU average is 44.6, while in SRB it is 75.82, which is a 70% higher. A similar situation is in BiH, with 67 road deaths per million inhabitants, 52.2% higher than the EU average. Both countries are in the process of adopting road safety strategies and action plans in which the importance of modern tools for improving road safety is recognized and emphasized. In both countries, road safety audits and road safety inspections are recognized by law as a modern tool for improving road safety. However, in-depth analysis of road accidents is still not part of national legislation. The main objective of this project is to build a better road safety system based on the results of an in-depth analysis of road accidents.
