The objective of the project is to strengthen the management of information on forests and sustainable forest management in the UNECE region, through the development of dedicated information systems, and supporting countries in their reporting efforts. The project will contribute to the improvement of the national reporting processes, the optimization of resources, an enhanced data completeness, data credibility, reliability and visibility. The UNECE/FAO Forestry and Timber Section has a long history of collecting, validating, and publishing information on forests and sustainable forest management (SFM) in the region.
